BACKGROUND STORY
Growing up in a family that centered its quality time around meals, I was never slim despite my highly active lifestyle. Some of the sports I participated in included gymnastics, ballet, kung fu, swim team, figure skating, climbing, equestrian, and tons of running. It was not until I gained my “freshman 25”, at UC Davis, that I understood the importance of nutrition. The next year, I filled my general education requirements with nutrition, psychology, weight training, and sports therapy classes. I hired my first personal trainer and began my obsession with health and fitness.
After college, I worked for a technology company in advertising sales but continued to coach friends and family for fun. In 2009, I decided to pursue fitness and health professionally. I became certified through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). In 2012, I had my first child, which gave me even more experience.
